Hi, I've been looking at the forum for a while now, and decided to join when I saw your post, as I live near Penarth. Apparently Andy Evans was based in Penarth, then moved to Pencoed (near Bridgend). He had some dealings with Crane's in Cardiff, and Gareth Lewis, the tech in Crane's (it's now closed) knew him. Gareth hasn't heard from him for years. Gareth works for PMT now in Cardiff and knows most of the local luthiers/techs/guitarists, so Andy Evans is presumably not in the area now. Andy was once an apprentice with Gordon Smith Guitars. From www.mandolincafe.com/forum/threads/130236-Info-required

I heard John and Linda had sold on Gordon Smith Guitars? That being the case, I reckon you'd draw a blank from that company. Maybe you could track down John Smith but even if you could, based on my my few dealings with him you may well encounter diluted indifference? Again maybe now that he has more time on his hands ...
