Hi everyone, hope you're all well! Some advice please. I finally got round to changing the pickup on my MM blues 14 fretter removing what I thought was a weak sounding undersaddle piezo for a Sixtus single coil. All went well with the very minimum of bad language and the guitar sounds GREAT! The pickup I removed seems to be a Fishman passive Resophonic pickup and not a cheap undersaddle piezo as I thought. I downloaded the installation instructions and was surprised to see that the pup is mounted inside the cone, whereas the one I removed was outside the cone, under the biscuit. No wonder it sounded awful! Here's my question. The Idea of the pup inside the cone makes sense, but there is no mention of where the pup cable, which is now hanging down inside the cone is supposed to go! I'd like to try this pup on another reso, installed as per instructions. Do I just leave the cable dangling? I'd obviously try and fix it inside the body as best as possible before placing the cone back in the well but it will still be loose against the cone. I'm now going to try and add some attachments to give you all a better idea. Just so you know, no guitars have been harmed by me, I'm only working on guitars that have already had pups installed!

I got one of these when they came out (it had an active circuit with battery) it never sounded very good . Can’t remember what I did to stop cable from rattling. I would normally take the uncut wire through the jack hole, fit the cone, then pull the wire tight(ish). Hold it with a crocodile clip, cut and solder the jack. This might not work on a reso as you may not be using a standard style or end pin jack.

Thanks Pete, I started to put it in my Republic parlour reso but couldn't find the right length screw amongst my dozens of screws! Instead I put in a Sixtus humbucker, sounds great! While I had me tools out I decided I may as well put the other Sixtus humbucker I had in the 12 string tri-cone. Never been inside one before but it all went well. Really good sound, they are excellent pickups! Not a bad days work eh? Thought I might stick the Fishman that started all this in a spider cone and see how that sounds.
Best wishes to you all, John
