You can pick them up for £1300 to £1500 on ebay, you will probably get a better price at auction as some of the buy it now prices are ridiculous.
There was NRP triolian that sold for £1370 recently and a Radiotone Bendaway that sold for £1300.

Got my 1998 Style 1 Tricone on eBay for £1500 last year. Needed new cones and a set-up though so probably £1750 all in.
I've seen another couple since for around £1600. Single cones are cheaper.

Current £ vs $ means things may be more expensive, exchange rate will change but depends on how long you can bear to wait...... Lee

Hi again !
Dave Arcari is selling his well sweat-corroded, circa 10-11yr old NRP Style O, butchered with a humbucker, and metal plate in the back for a Highlander pickup battery compartment, for £3000.

Hey, I'm not famous, but you can have my original '31 Triolian for £12,000, cash money, based on those asking prices.

Without any debating or thinking twice I would go for a guitar. Buying your first guitar is the initial step in a lifelong journey of learning and inspiration. It can also be confusing. What size guitar should you buy? Acoustic or electric? New or used? How can you find the best value? I prefer to compare prices at a place like bestelectricguitars.reviews/best-metal-guitars they are a good place to start. Although many variables might affect your decision, the most important thing is to find a guitar that sounds good, looks good, and feels good to play - to you.

Not sure I understand what your point is, and if it relates to the original thread topic or not.
In your first sentence, you said "Without any debating or thinking twice I would go for a guitar". Did you mean to say a NEW guitar ? Or did you actually mean a GUITAR, as opposed to say a saxaphone ?
Brand new guitars can be very expensive. Whatever your budget, you can get a much better quality USED guitar for the same amount on a new guitar.
National Resophonic guitars are built like tanks - so unless you look to buy one well abused, I don't think you can go much wrong buying a 10-20yr old National Resophonic guitar. In general, used NRP guitars sell for much less than brand new ones - and bargains can be had (as many are treated so carefully, they are next to brand new, even if 10yrs old).
The original point of my thread was to ask what is the current expected rough value for a used NRP guitar (which will vary a bit, depending on which model AND condition, and if been modified in some way).
The guitar in question is heavily corroded and butchered quite a bit - and thus in my view the value should be even less than your average used NRP guitar. The original owner seems to think it is worth as much as a brand new one - or perhaps (??) he thinks it is worth more because it will have belonged to him ??

Hello Certy, I see that you only registered here a few hours ago and so first of all I welcome you to our friendly and informative forum. I am not sure that I understand your post either, or that it is relevant to this thread. Your link to a site about metal guitars is if I am not mistaken, about electric guitars that are suitable for playing heavy metal music, not about metal bodied resophonic guitars and in particular to this thread, the current value of used National Reso-Phonic® guitars, rather than the value of original 1920s and 30s National guitars. Or are we misunderstanding your point? Shine On Michael.
