Johnny Winter did play that tricone, which not long ago went to the same home as Bukka White's Hard Rock Duolian. Johnny also played a Duolian, an OMI and one or two others. That Johnny Winter album cover is iconic in National Guitar World. It inspired and captured so many people to get into playing National guitars. Never go by photos... ...."I didn't realise MM played a 1936 National Spanish Electric or had a 1937 Model B amp" That guitar and amp were just props for a photoshoot. I never played a note on it! My Dad and I were on our way to breakfast before work one day when Mom rang me on the cell to say that on her school bus route someone had a guitar out with the trash! We had to drive by the street and went down and sure enough a nice classical guitar. It wasn't until after work that I got to check it better and found that the neck had been snapped near the peghead. With the application of some Gorilla Glue and a clamp I left it over night not realizing that the glue "fizzes" and expands a bit. You're supposed to watch it and wipe it. Later the next day I tuned it up and played it. It is sweet!! It's a Miguel Angel made in Spain. A professional bass and guitar player I showed it to was amazed both at my repair and how nice it was. One man's trash is gold to me though I did have a boss who said "One man's junk is another man's junk" but that didn't apply in this case. Attachments:
