This is a so-called "Duolian by Dobro", but was in fact another one of Gibson's nails in the coffin for the iconic Dobro name. Shine On Michael

Hi Michael, I take it the less said the better! Best wishes to you all, John Well just look at it! I hope I am not offending anyone by commenting this way about that guitar, but I find nothing about it aesthetically pleasing. They sound okay, but they were never a big seller. I remember a couple of them in shops in London just gathering dust until the price drop made them irresistible. When Gibson first launched them I couldn't believe they would make something that looks like that, and that they could give it the name of one of the most iconic instruments in guitar history "Duolian". Interestingly, it was around this time, mid to late 90s and into the 00s, that the first serious competitors to the major brand names, Dobro and National, started to surface from Eastern Europe and the Far East, and that more and more luthiers were were building Dobro and National style instruments. Shine On Michael

You're not offending me - it's just plug ugly!
I just don't get the need for a cutaway on an acoustcic - bit like five string basses - only used for maybe 0.000000001% of the time.
ol'git shuffles off stage left mumblin' about bloody kids, ain't got a clue, weren't like that in my day etc. etc.......

I am in the minority as like some of the Omi era stuff, I have had a chat with a guy at the Dave King workshop who has one of those (sorry forgot his name). They all need improvements from that era, cone nut saddle etc so have to be bought with that in mind. As much as it was the beginning of the end period I have had some lovely custom one offs l even brought a Zephyr into the country, like everything else it has gone on the revolving door one in & one out to protect domestic harmony. I would still have a Hula Blues at the right price. But enough about future projects and get playing what I have now Lee

Lee, I agree about OMI instruments, but this is a Gibson, not an OMI guitar.
Shine On Michael.
