Hello all, In that a trip to Pocklington to hear Mitra is not practical for me at this pimento in time, I wanted to share my way of bringing MM to the Delta.... ( or at least close enough for jazz and the best I can do right now ) At this very moment, Im sitting a mile from the Mississippi and Ive got Mitra playing live in the studio via the web .... with the simple method of using the headphone out on my phone into the 1/4 jacks of the zoom recorder I am able to record the recent BBC broadcast... my web connection is crappy and its taken a couple trys to get the complete show but it works well... I can also route the recording into my loop pedal and scratch along... The hardest part was finding two cables in my kit... a trs mini to 1/4 in mono y cord and a trs mini to trs mini Add headphones... easy peasy and portable. I think Mitra is the coolest thing since red beans met rice... As the blues Owe their due to the collision of cultures that took place in the Delta ...the marriage of delta Blues and Indian ragas is a natural... as cerys points out. It just works.... every listen it seems to work better. Ive had the opportunity to travel enough to see that people everywhere, regardless of culture can understand the blues... In my idealistic dreams, I think this is the kind of art that brings folks together. Something sorely needed here... as much as some want to point the finger, everbody taps their feet the exact same way... It might take some doing but Im spamming up the joint telling everyone I know about this hip new old thing... I really want this music to come full circle and hear Mitra in the delta !πΆπ I am amazed by what we can do with technology these days... I just wish it didn't require a yearly " upgrade " Peace Yall Jeff

Jeff, I am so blown away by your words that I am speechless, and that doesn't happen to me often! Thank you Shine On and more importantly.... Peace to y'all too. Michael Here's a live recording from a couple of years ago that features my dear friend, the wonderful Ric Sanders from Fairport Convention, on fiddle.

I like this version a bit better... seems like your voice is a bit looser ... Listening on a fine British product I might add. Lol
