Seems to have gone a bit quiet on the forum. Here's a couple of news items concerning forum members what arrived in the 'blues' section of my google newsfeed: LINK and LINK
(The bagpipe section only ever has stories about hairy guys in kilts bungee jumping while playing 'Scotland the Brave' on a set of flaming bagpipes).

Hi Graeme ! Thanks for that first link ! Yes, next weekend is a BIG blues event for Edinburgh, for Scotland, and if you don’t mind travelling, for the rest of y’all from the UK, and beyond. The main idea was to highlight Scottish blues acts, of the non rock-blues, more traditional styles of blues, with a few International acts to spice it up, joining us, being backed by us - Big Jon Atkinson, from the US, and Oyvind Stoelfjell, from Norway. That’s me mentioned (Richard O’Donnell), and I’ll be all over the weekend festival, playing in various formats. I’m playing piano in the first band of the Friday night (The Blue Hyenas), Saturday afternoon, my trio, Mud In Your Ear (with Prof Scratchy and Thomas Lucas) play a set, joined by Oyvind Stoelfjell. Saturday night starts with a solo spot from Allan Jones (Prof Scratchy), then the Jensen Interceptors (with me on piano & Hammond). Sunday afternoon has a young blues musicians set (including Thomas Lucas), followed by a 2hr blues piano set on a grand piano, with me, Thomas Lucas and Oyvind Stoelfjell doing a solo set each, and a 4th piano player, not wanting named for fear of his ex-wife turning up and causing a scene !!! The Sunday night finale features Glasgow’s best (no, Scotland’s best) blues band, Al Brown and the Bluelighters, backing Big Jon Atkinson, with Oyvind Stoelfjell on piano. Gonna be awesome !! Don’t miss it !!! Details here, and for tickets etc : www.edinburghjazzfestival.com/about-the-festival/news/scottish-blues-weekend.htmlCome along and say hi to me. I’ll be the one with the biggest & tallest quiff, for certain !!! (Couldn’t get an appointment with my hairdresser for a trim, as she is on holiday !!!)

Love it! And just when I'm reading 'A Decent Ride' by Irvine Welsh!
