Maybe we should have a "songs about National guitars" thread.
Here's one from my repertoire. This was originally written with my friend, Terry Clarke, as the title song for a TV documentary I was working on with Mark Makin in 1994 called Shine On. Johnny Cash had agreed to sing the song for our film. We almost got our budget from the ITV network, but unbenown to us, at the same time as our application there was also an application to make the six part Beatles Anthology series. Needless to say, all the music documentary budget went into that project and ours was turned down. We then approached the BBC, but their budget was too small and they wanted to take control of our story, so we stopped. Anyway....Shine On is about the same subject as Dave's song. It was inspired by the opening line of the Paul Simon song, Graceland..."The Mississippi Delta is Shining Like a National Guitar"
Shine On Michael.

Surely the National anthem should be ‘Any Old Iron’? Pete

Apologies for it not being about national guitars, but its an oldish 'tune' of mine called 'anthem'. The lyrics are anonymous, presumably by a Roman slave! TT
