I remember it well bod! There are no recycled authentic Cobalt Blue glass bottles readily available now for bottlenecks - it was possible to use the screw-cap Harvey's Bristol Cream for a basic glass slide (although the wall was thin - 3mm - and the shape was very tapered) but the bottle has been re-shaped again and is now completely unusable for a bottleneck slide. If you're hankering for the best 'real deal' glass bottleneck slide ~ pop into Waitrose or Sainsbury's and head to the balsamic vinegar / olive oil shelves....you'll be presented with an absolute plethora of straight-sided long necked beauties!! Slide On! The Flaschenmeister.

I’ll be pinging my screw cap Harvey’s Bristol Cream bottleneck slide your way for some tinkering soon 😎 Best Lew

urther to the best bottles ..There is a friend an ex construction worker with real hard working mans hands and rather large digits to boot he wanted a glass slide made and after seeking out a solution[ Scratching of head ]..Eureka use a small voddy bottle and cut the top off ! A bit like Duane Allmans fave one should give him at least the 26mm he needs,As a footnote I use the small bottles on my lapsteel and find them great,Hope to have been of help to someone..Regards t.

Out for a bite in Nola, I asked if they had any old wine bottles... and this appeared. An 50yr old unopened bottle of mad dog, heartberry wine...lol as soon as I figure how to dispose of the contents, ask and Ye shall receive.

Jeff, what you do is dilute it 2:1 with champagne and drink it slowly with your favourite lady whilst watching the sun going down over the bayou.
Then, when you've sobered up, just send the bottle to Ian McWee at Diamond Bottlenecks in the UK, where he will convert it into a pukkah done job slide for you.
You lucky, lucky man!
Enjoy!
Best, PD.
