Hi everyone,
Dave King has asked me if I would like to do a slide guitar workshop on a Sunday during October at his Denmark Street studio. Dave wants to develop the weekend workshops along the same lines as LRC used to do. The studio is small, so maximum number of students would be eight. As I am not out on the road during this month I am available, so I am interested to hear from any forum members or visitors who would like to come.
We would start around midday and the workshop would be a two hour session. The fee for each student is £30.00.
Please let me know ASAP if you are interested and we can fix a date.

Sounds cool Michael! But I assume it wouldn't be lap sliding, or could a lap style workshop be arranged too?
Cheers,
Fred

Hi Fred,
This workshop is not a lap slide event, but there is no reason why we can't arrange one. In fact, if we can get a smal group together I would do it on the same day. If you know anyone that might be interested....get them to visit this thread and leave a message.

Hi everyone, I now have a date ;D – unfortunately, this Sunday 14th October is no longer possible . So the MM Slide Guitar Workshop will take place on Sunday 28th October at Luthiers Corner, 21 Denmark Street, London, W1. There is limited space at Dave’s studio, so we can only fit eight students in. If I have more than eight, which I think we have, I will do two sessions; the first at 11am, and the second at 2pm. Each session is two hours and the cost is £30.00 per person. So – I am now taking bookings for Sunday 28th October. So far, but not confirmed, we have 12 students. Please confirm ASAP….thanks! I think the best way is to fill the 11am workshop first, unless you prefer the 2pm one…..just let me know. If anyone is interested in doing both, there would be a £10 discount. Send me a PM, leave a message on this thread, or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you, Shine On, Michael

Hi Michael,
Sorry for delay in confirming booking, hope it's not too late.
I can definitely do 28 October, both sessions, presumably the afternoon won't be just a repeat of the morning. If so, I guess just one session will do. Please confirm if space ok and details of payment.
Regards,
chris

Hi Chris,
Your name is on the list, so don't worry, you have a place.
The two workshops will not be identical. As you know I do not teach from a book, I go with what everybody wants to learn. So I think doing both sessions will not be a waste, it will be very good.
Regarding payment - on the day is fine.

Thanks to all that attended Michaels workshop on Sunday. hope you all enjoyed it and the tea wasn't to slow coming :-)
If the workshops are supported Luthiers Corner and Frets will continue to put them on and I'm sure Michael will be back.

Dave,
Didn't get time on the day to say thanks, and how much I enjoyed Michael's workshop. It would be great if you and Ron could pick up from where LRC left off with the workshops. I have already booked with you for Steve James. Did you know also, that Catfish Keith and Bob Brozman are currently touring the UK? Maybe you could get them to do a workshop each before they leave.
Best wishes,
Chris.
