Hi Revy! Looks great mate, the body's in much better condition than mine! After I got a huge rebate on the origional asking price I said to myself I was glad to have a none asian model that i didn't feel I had to be too scared of marking up. It's suprising how much it frees up my playing. If you're going to play slide on it definately get those heavier strings, 56-15s seems to be popular in this neck of the woods, I go for 59-17, really brings out the best in the guitar and I was suprised how quickly I got used to them. Your break angle wants to be about 5 degrees, when you actualy see this on a tricone it looks like nothing but it's just enough to fully activate the cones. Any greater angle stifles them and you get little bass or volume. Getting that break angle right is key to your tricones tone. After taking the cones out and putting the thing back together, it will take a while for the sound to come back to its full bloom as everything re-compresses, this is why the advice is given to re-string one string at a time. The more you play it, the better it will get, enjoy! Chris

I have a lot of appreciation for under-appreciated Continentals... I've had this one for about five years - great tone, good intonation. Unusually it has a style 3 body and a style 4 cover plate.

Hi! Loving that Mister Marshcat! I'm casually looking for another example for Sunday best, another style 1 in great condition would be good, but I really aspire to a model similar to yours. Hard to find though, very nice Sir. Chris

It looks to me that the body and coverplate are well matched on the Conti shown by marshcat...though I see some slight differences on my Conti as seen below. Would mine be a style 4? I dont recall what the label says or if it a euro or sino made body... Attachment Deleted

Hey all, ain't been around for awhile and look what I find! It's been a bit since I've seen that guitar. Had quite the love/hate relationship for a little while. Glad this guitar found a good loving home! The original board was too soft and had to be replaced, would've got to markers/dots/binding again someday...but my main goal at that point was to get her solid and running again. The scratches by the fretboard is all drill work from the previous owner getting the neck off, all around the heel, under the fretboard etc... it was brutal. Hope my internal work is still holding true! Lots of trial and many errors. Ended up just letting her go due to time/money/patience/motivation constraints. My heart belongs to the single cone woodies anyways. Don't know where she's been since she got to you, but I'm glad she ended up with you, enjoy her! Revy - If you have any questions don't hesitate to call me at the number I gave you or email me again. All the best, Danny Here she is in a previous 'family' shot Attachment Deleted

Here's a close-up of my hybrid Continental with the style 3 body / style 4 coverplate. The engraving is not that good a match...
Indeed, if anyone out there has a style 4 body / style 3 coverplate, I'd be glad to do a swap!

Hey Danny, Don't laugh at my playing! I'd only had this resonator a couple weeks and it's the first one I've owned. Not used to cumbersome finger picks either but I like them. Enjoy the sound of the old beast again! Talks to Angels in open D
