I haven't but I took a look at it. Its's a short slide about 1 1/2 inch long and an inner diameter of 19mm - about 3/4 inch. I think the beginning of this youtube around 1:02 shows better, how far up on his pinky he's wearing it.
I have one about that length in ultimate glass from Ian, which I love, and my reservation about trying out this one is its got a section in front end that's thicker so I don't know how it would work with my finger or if the short length and the fatter section would be uncomfortable or ineffective. I don't like the engraving on the playing end and that was another factor in my not giving it a test. It seems to be something that works well for him, with the electric guitar technique he uses, he says in standard, so he's offering it.

Thanks for your help Harriet. I am not too keen on engraved name and website either. I might inquire about the wall thickness and report back but going by the specs you’ve put forward I would say a bit too short for me! It’s cool that there’s another solid brass slide out there being machined though :-)
Cheers Lew

Hi Lew, The 'Kirk Lorange' brass slide is a nice piece of kit ~ but it is designed specifically for Kirk's playing style preference which is a dropped-D bass string and all the other five in standard, therefore it's length is finished to cover only five strings - not six Slide On! Ian.

Ian. Thank you, Ian - I hope you don't mind my adding that I certainly wish when players developed slides designed for their playing style and fretboard width, they would add that info as you have and cover the limitations in a straightforward manner. It might not be until you've bought a couple of slides based on the sound of the demo and been disappointed that you start taking a hard look at the compatibility to your particular style and playing instrument. Kirk is a player and teacher so I am a little disappointed in his overall presentation.

Ian. I have that slide and it's exactly like Ian says, it does not cover all the strings.
Tone-wise it is the best slide I ever played and I also like the "step", although I am wearing it on my ring finger.
Btw: Kirk is a great fellow! :-)

Hi Biscuit, interesting that you wear it on your ring finger as that is what I’d wear it on. I’m not too worried about the length I guess. If you get a chance Biscuit, can you advise me what thickness the wall is please? I’m thinking at the fingertip end :-) I’m not in any position to buy one now but maybe in a couple months...
Thanks for sharing

It is a nice slide, though with my skinny fingers I wear it on my pinky upside down. Nice weight

The thicker end Best Lew 90 grams, 46mm long. Note the inside is not tapered, its thin for about 25mm and thick for the rest. Wall width at 'thick' end 5mm(ish), and 2mm(ish) at the other end. If i put it on 'right way up' it looks a lot like Kirk in the video on this page... link.. the end of my finger sticks out. I don't find it comfortable and it transgresses MM's slide length rule ;-) so I wear it upside down! Cheers

Thanks Ken, that’s really helpful and kind of you. Looks like a nice wee bit of kit ;-) I will see if I can fashion a scrap piece of tube into the same length to see if it works on my long ring finger!
Take it easy
