These things don't have a choppiness to my ears which I guess is due to the contacter staying wet allowing gradual on/off contact - just my idea, that's all. It's analogue as an analogue thing, too. The thing I also love about tremolo is that you can set it up at a speed (beat) to get the groove of the song you're playing.

..."due to the contacter staying wet allowing gradual on/off contact"...
dunno for sure. as admitted above no electrical engineer here.
do know that water doesn't conduct electricity, the minerals in the water are what is conductive.
[why we don't wanna put tap water in our car battery]
could be the 1-ish volts from PUPs does "softly" reduce as the micro minerals become further apart increasing resistance when the fluid separates. or resistance variations as the circuit length varies to stay within the shape the liquid changes into (?)
see on Mr. Formosa's schematic that the brass canister around the liquid capsule is grounded. are there any radio emission barriers between the motor and the capsule to shield it other than the brass canister?
also, what is minimum RPM from small end of the conical drive shaft?

Mitch, I ain't got a clue. All I know is it works and it sounds great. Maybe someone else can help with the technical stuff. Anyone?
