Yes I have that. Will post it later, but it looks like that was the only tailpiece on there, though the screw head looks a bit unoriginal.

Hi Fred, all,
I really like the looks of that Pup... Wondering if it has the same kind of Hot found in a Charlie Christian. I know nothing about it or the guitar but it appears to have PB strings on it. Could it have been raised to hear non ferrous strings in that it was made in the era of Monel or Gut? Jus a thought...
All best,
Jeff

Jeff, I dont know but maybe will learn something when it arrives. The pickup on the bridge is going to be very bright...as the sound seems to be on the memphis minnie recordings of 39,40,41 the years i guess she was using a similar instrument.
Strings are the a major piece of the vintage tone and I dont know if the modern string have all of the properties of the early ones.

That's an interesting topic, at least to me on vintage strings, especially during the war years what were the alloys - I think a company like Martin would have something close, and then there's the issue of the recording equipment as a factor. but I have heard the vintage tone achieved occasionally through modern strings and the right player/guitar on modern recording equipment. Here's some cool prewar string packages: www.musicmansteve.com/strings/strings.htmGood luck with the guitar
