Well just got back from an amazing Larkin Poe gig at Concorde 2 in Brighton.. Those sisters really know how to put on a show .. Rebecca Lovell the younger of the 2 has got an amazing voice .. and aint bad strat player either. The older sister Megan backed up the vocals and played slide. Gig of the year for me so far.

so .this isn't as someone at work joked a cover up for a "Keys in the bowl" party ...lol Basically a friend of a friend started this last year as he was fed up pf paying money to go to a gig and people just blatantly talking all the way through it. the way it works is artists are invited to come and play ( mainly acoustic sets) in smaller venues ( sometimes even someones living room) there is mo charge to watch just a recommended donation paid on the way out. all the money goes to the artist so a few weeks ago a Guitarist called Jack Hutchinson ( who you may or may not of heard of ) played for 25 people in the back room of someones house. the audience ( all invited) paid £15 each for 2 x 45 minute sets ..all the money went to Jack and he also sold a few CD's as well. Yesterday Ian Siegal played to 60 people at the Harlington in Fleet .. same scenario. I think it is brilliant .. no video camera's waving around .. nobody talking .no disruption whatsoever .. artists are now queuing up to take part.. Happy days.
