The winged wheel logo is common in motorcycles and a cyclop is slang for motorcycle headlight, although I've never heard the singular form... Or maybe the plural.
I suspect this is a one off that someone put together. Age, playability, and value ? Who knows ? It's certainly better than I could do.
FWIW, I've been betting horses today. Six out of Six were duds but at least I had a good time playing the game...
Here's hoping for a pleasant surprise !

Hey all, Thanks for the replies,
I had it down as a homemade geetar, but cutting those holes out of the coverplate? getting the odd looking Tailpiece when theres a myriad of copied tailpieces out there which would be cheaper. The tuners look European to me maybe German, though maybe older than 1960's boom?.
I did haggle on the price, and I probably am still paying a little too much. I also spent some time messaging the seller and thinking about it before going best offer.
What is unusual is the logo says.. or said "Guaranteed not to split" which is odd for an autocycle.... And the finish going weird? I hope it's not been doused in thinners.
I'm not a gambler but, worth a punt at least to have it in my hands and see for myself!!!
Hoping Michael can remember something to help with origins even if it is a Donor guitar job

Hi Preacherman, I think we're all getting as excited as you are! Guaranteed not to split? Bike tyre inner tube? All said and done it's not so much how it's made but how it sounds! It might have the sweetest tone you've ever heard. Let us know! Best wishes to you all, John

Hi all, It appears to be very old..... the coverplate is die cut not laser and there is no sign of ladder bracing removal inside. The neck is very similair to a Hofner parlour guitar I used to own in Heel and thickness, but the FB is closer to an Egmond also note there is no Zero fret and the tuner posts are tiny without a gap in the holes so I believe they belong on this guitar. The binding is brown wood and bone white The body is very light and it is strung up very light and doesn't resonate much right now, I worry that the mushrooms need to be a little bigger and/or the back needs to be thicker to string it up with heavier strings. I might try and put in a Chinese cone if it'll fit. What happened to the finish? it has been polished, there is still some crackling and golden flecks in the varnish. Unusual top shoulders and 14 neck join I cant tell if this is home made, but if it is it was done a long time ago.
