Righto, I've got the message - no bone slide. Even the butcher put me off when he explained all the messing about of drying out and preparing the bone before I could actually start doing something with it. Quite a palaver, so I'll pass. Thanks for all your comments. PD. I know you're finished with it but I thought I should mention in case you decide to revisit making one, that I remember Kenilee Burgess who used bonerz brand- I don't think they are still made. , mentioned the guy had to wear masks and stuff to make his - not sure why - I think the dust. I got my mitts on a Bonerz bone slide - not bad, different, but not as bad as I expected it to be. Slightly quieter with less "clang" and yes, OK on a parlour but NBG on a resonator. Showing my age? - Regal parlour, Monel strings, bone slide, swig of Jim Beam and off we jolly well go!

Jim Beam in large quantities is a well known antidote to anthrax PD.

You could probably get results with a bone slide if you allowed thirty years or so to break it in.
