Well 2007 is almost upon us and I think rather than sitting around moping bout “my baby done left me and I got the blues” we need to put a more positive spin on things for the new year…and as they say…new year new beginning Regards Anthony Lucky that way My women walked out cause she wanted her own way She spat out expletives there was nothing more to say Said I gave no satisfaction And she needed much more action anyway Hey what can I say Guess I’m lucky that way She left me with wisdom in the words of her advice Said I missed warning signs while skating on thin ice Didn’t give me time to blink Guess she thought she’d leave me drowning in a drink Haven’t seen her since that day I’ve been lucky that way Given up on gambling I’ve got nothing left to lose Haven’t spent a penny buying cigarettes or booze There’s a whole new verve to life Since the day I lost my dearest darling wife Hey what can I say I’m just lucky that way ...it aint quite the same is it?...So on second thoughts let's stick with the blues All the best for 2007

"Lucky that way" - the last verse - from the girl's perspective! Maybe this will make the song a 'blues' again, or perhaps not?? (Nothing personal intended, by the way...) She's found herself another man, he's handsome, rich and cool He's bought her a Mercedes and a villa with a pool She never has to cook Sits all day beside the pool and reads a book Hey what can I say Guess she's lucky that way

Hi Anthony I'm pleased you took my reply in the light-hearted way it was intended! As blues songs seldom have happy endings, and in view of the verse in your last posting, here goes - a cautionary tale.... So now she's fat and ugly with a hideous spare tyre Her new man doesn't want her now, his passion's lost its fire So she's on the shelf again Doesn't get a second glance from any men Other wives and girlfriends say Phew, we're lucky that way! ;D Sonya (Do you think anyone will employ us as lyricists? Better not give up the day job yet....)

Hi Anthony Thanks for the 'poetic' compliments!! Think we'd better call a truce now before everyone else suffers from terminal boredom.... Who knows, one day we may get the opportunity to perform our song - with due respect to R Cray of course! Keep up the songwriting Sonya
