Woke up to a little surprise today. My MM Lightning has arrived! A few days earlier than I anticipated ( I was expecting towards the end of the week) so that is awesome. Absolutely blown away by the guitar and the whole service. Supremely packaged, great 'case candy' (I mean, signed leaflets and letters from the man himself, and a DB slide! That's awesome!) and then the beast itself. Hand down best service I've had from a company/ provider. It is even better than I was expecting. I honestly don't think that unless you were a reso expert or you were explicitly told, you could tell this instrument was made in China. It totally blows away the instruments I've picked up in the shops around here. That engraving The leaflet says the cone gets better with age. I'm already two hours in so I better carry on playing!

Hi Chris! Have you had that thought yet that goes something like....'why the hell would anybody buy anything else at this or even twice this price point?'

Absolutely. I was thinking back to the time I was playing a resonator in my local, very well known guitar shop. The guitar in question was only a bit cheaper than my Lightning (ignoring the postage) and I remember thinking to myself "This is really awful! Am I going to have to settle for this sort of thing at this price to get into resonators and bottleneck slide playing?!" It really didn't compare in anyway. I am SO glad I held.
Best wishes, Chris

I'm not going to preach to the converted, but I received my first MM, a Lightning, yesterday evening and can only echo what Chris and Orbital have said about the instrument and Michael's customer care. A week ago I was gradually coming to think that I'd rather wait for a new shipment of MMs than pick up a H****d*pp*r in Denmark St. I enquired about availability on Sunday and it arrived yesterday, Wednesday.
Thanks Michael.
