Will definitely be there, room booked at Newtown house hotel. Be good to finally see some faces to go with the names! Haven't done a workshop before, what guitar/guitars should I bring? Have all mm's to choose from, advice please. Best wishes, John

Hi John
It will be great to see you at the slide workshop. I would just bring one guitar that you like to play slide on.
Best wishes

I may be bringing a mate along. Hope that's cool. And sorry in advance for my limited skills! I'll try to keep up :-)
Best,

What a great way to spend an afternoon yesterday, amongst very diverse group of varying background, age and ability, all united by a common interest! Huge thanks to Michael and Manish for their efforts - it was probably the most valuable and useful session I've ever enjoyed in the best part of 50 years of playing (badly). If you ever get the chance to attend one of Michael's workshops don't miss it! And to put the final flourish to the day what a great gig yesterday evening! Thanks guys for an unforgettable day.

I agree, it was an excellent day! Great to meet the guys that were there - very friendly bunch :-) And lots of really useful knowledge gained from Michael and Manish. Now to practice!
Thanks also to Malcolm for sorting out the venue.
I'd never been to any kind of music workshop before but I would definitely attend another, and it certainly fuelled my interest in Pocklington!
I really enjoyed what I was able to see of the set too. Roll and Tumble was particularly cool...Manish smashed it!!
Thanks chaps!
Lew
P.S. Sorry about the wet handshake, Michael. I did try to warn you! Ha ha

Hi all, Like to add my compliments to all and thanks again to Michael and Manish for a very enjoyable afternoon and evening. Good to meet everyone! Michael I wanted to come along to Bush Hall in the week and was wondering if it was ticketed or can you pay at the door? Hope all went well in Exeter. Best wishes to you all, John

It was a pleasure Michael. Great to meet others from the forum. Please pass on my thanks to Manish. He pointed me in so many directions and his advice and teaching was invaluable. I will pass on your thanks to Ian. The pub manager liked it so much he reckons he's going to see you again as soon as. Sorry about the Pink Floyd lighting with the red ants running all over Manish Mohan veena.

Many thanks for a great and enjoyable workshop yesterday and good to meet everybody. I picked up loads of tips and I loved being totally immersed in slide guitar for a few hours. I'll be a much better player next time you all see me, that's for sure.
Michael knocking out a few licks on my old National made my day - I doubt it's ever been played so well (or ever will be for that matter!)
The gig afterwards blew me away - Indian blues: who'd've thought it? Loved it!

I'd like to echo all that others have said above. A lovely day spent meeting nice people and learning slide together. I wonder if a South Coast slide workshop might be sustainable as a recurring event... (I'd certainly go to one again)
And a fantastic performance by Mitra, who seemed to have become even more awesome a live act since I saw them a few months ago. (Any plans for a live cd, or even dvd, Michael?)

Further to my earlier post, a big thankyou to Malc for all the arrangements for yesterday. I'd definitely be up for more of the same and if it can't always be a workshop, having meetups to be around other likeminded people. Best wishes to all.
