I know that feeling! I'm pretty sure this could be the first of many. The lightning as well as being a great guitar is also one of the best looking guitars you'll ever see! Good luck with the search. Best wishes to you all, John

I know that feeling too, it's impossible to turn off! :-D Well, until you buy the guitar of course. And then it usually starts again!

Just to add my voice to the choir, I absolutely agree on the MM guitars. I have an MM Blues (steel bodied as opposed to the Lightning’s brass) and it’s a wonderful instrument. I also have a stellar mid-30s fiddle edge Dobro, and I often find myself reaching for the MM first-they’re that good. "mid-30s fiddle edge Dobro" - apparently this is FOR SALE! £1750 No affiliation... TT

" I only want a resonator on which to play Romeo and Juliet" Is that the only Straits song u play? he uses it for "Why Worry" ... and for the intro and background stuff to"Telegraph Road" ... and probably a few more..

I am in the final stages of assembling this “ budget “ model. Its an NRP neck with wipe on poly finish, vintage decal and some nice possibly tricone vintage tuners, and a regal body i think i found on ebay for hundred bucks or so. NRP biscuit still unslotted and possibly a continental cone. Very loud with deep bass surprised me. Cover will go in after i finish tweaking. Probably 500 bucks into it. So, if you are somewhat skilled or have skilled friends it can be done on a shoestring...
