Well it`s not one of mine! Looks like an 8 leg Dobro spider. What scale is it? That might also be a clue to who made it. I have seen a similar logo ,but where? will have a think PT

This was posted on the Weenie Campbell forum about the Concert Star....
"Concert Stars were made in New Zealand; I think in later 1930s into the 1940s. I don't know a hell of a lot about them, but I recall years ago that a local luthier was trying to flog off the left-over stock of cones. Only snag was that they weren't very good. There was also a Concert Star mandolin and I think at least one these is still around. Of course, if this guitar is in the UK, it does raise questions as to how it got there and whether the New Zealand version was an offshoot of some other Concert Star. The resonator cover looks like an NZ model; I think the arc of dots across the lower bout is an add-on. I have heard that the New Zealand one was litigated out of existence by Dobro, but I don't know how accurate that is. Sorry I can't be more definite, but this was all gleaned long ago; had I known then what I know now, I wld have asked a lot more questions. (The CS wasn't the only antipodean resonator knock-off; there was also the Wayne, made, I believe in Melbourne, Australia. Many years ago when living in that city, I bought one for A$100 off a local folkie. He told me it was a 1918 Dobro; even in those days I knew he was full of it, but the price was OK so I didn't argue.)"
I think this is a generic body & neck built by one of the budget-guitar US factories...Harmony/Regal, and that possibly the metalwork is Charles Brasher's work. Exported to NZ, possibly by Brasher.... Something like that!

I made my first resonator in `69/70 from a cheap guitar with a cone I made from an old aluminium printing plate. This was lent to a friend (by `76 I had a National, and mine was not as good ) He then lent it to someone who moved to New Zealand ( called Richardson, working in films) So there is a Resonator I made in NZ somewhere. If Mr Richardson is on the forum, can I have it back? Pete T

Love the look of the Concert star, hope it plays nicely. Pretty unique in the coordinated design of sound hole covers, coverplate and detailing on the guitar. Not seen too many with unique sound hole design cover - actually none.

A friend of mine sent me these pics this morning. Does anyone know what this guitar is? Shine On Michael I've got one of these baby's.....I love it, It was my fathers. Was in ruff shape so I had some work done on it ...new cone, reinforced the neck and stuck on a Simons pick up. I use it at a lot of my gigs. So good to see another one out there!!! I live in Australia now but travelled from New Zealand with the guitar. Interesting to read these comments as I know nothing of its history really. Here is a youtube Vid me jammin on it --

Michael Messer, I don't think that the cover plate is a Brasher creation. It is unlike his known design in the bridge and strap areas. I truly cannot image that he would introduce a unique design solely for New Zealand export.

Bryan, while I tend to agree with you, I was given that information by someone that had a fair amount of knowledge, so it is possible. They still turn up occasionally! Shine On Michael
