I'm slowly tying to learn this at the moment and I keep wanting to walk into the video and move that guitar and those mic stands for a better view. Yes, shame they didn't move in closer. I love that opening rhythmn that you lead in with Michael, well nifty! On a side note, out of curiosity, how long is that slide you're using? It looks to be at least 70 mil maybe more but it's hard to make out...

Hi Quarterquay,
Thanks - I am pleased you enjoyed my rendition of that classic slide guitar blues song. I never play it exactly the same, but those Muddy-style guitar phrases are always there.
You have a very good eye, that slide is exactly 70mm long and it weighs 124gms/4.3 ounces.
If you are learning that song, it would be a lot easier if you could see me up close. On that subject, is there any mileage in me offering forum members online Skype lessons? It was something I talked about doing a couple of years ago, but the idea drifted. These days most of us have a good Internet connection and could be helpful to people.

Now if I was only that good at picking lottery numbers! Thanks, I've just ordered a new slide from Ian at Diamond Bottlenecks, a Blue Diamond,as a treat for my new 28.It's to replace one I bought before I changed fingers and so is too loose. I'd been watching my playing to suss out a length that seemed suitable and then noticed the length of that slide you are using. Different material too of course but I was intrigued and couldn't make out what it is you're doing that warrants the 70 mm length but there must be something. The reach over the guitar body for one I imagined or on the neck in general come to that. Anyway I settled on 66mm same as the old one only with a better fit for my little finger.70 would be way to much for me to get a handle on I think and perhaps not suitable for the bulk of the glass.
Skype lessons would be a great idea for people, but as I've just in Bod's dedicated thread i don't think I'm really set up for it here unfortunately.

Hi Michael
Do you have concert dates for 2014 and are you coming to the North East e.g. Stockton Arc?
Cheers Craig

Hi Craig,
I hope to have something in the North East this year as it is a while since I was there. I have played at the Stockton Arc and also at the Gateshead Sage, so both are contenders.
Thanks,
