Outrageous price!! - not sure how some of the Amz Marketplace sellers get away with it. I paid < £10 for the same item from the same source a couple of months ago.
MM doesn't see any of the £40.....

It is a rare item, but it is not the original release, nor is it as rare as the original release. This is a Koch UK re-release that I was never in support of. The package design is wrong and the master is not as good as the original. The original album was released on CD by Minidoka Records (cat' number..MICD0006) in 1993 and is very rare as only a few hundred were manufactured.
£40 seems like a lot to me, but I do know that CDs of this album, original and re-release, are very rare these days. You're right Mike....none of it comes my way!

Um, not any more there's not ;-) Michael, does the re-issue not come with the Johnny cash foreword/insert?

These prices are the wrong way round, the £3 one is the rare and original version of the album. The copy of Slidedance at £3 is the original Minidoka Records release, whereas the £32 one is the re-release by Koch UK that has the wrong artwork and the master is not as good because it was tweaked without me being present. The Minidoka Records Slidedance was released in 1990 and sold well. The Koch UK re-release was released in 1998 and probably didn't sell well. I say 'probably' because I had nothing to do with its re-release.
I am happy for private sellers and collectors to make money selling these and other records of mine, it doesn't offend or upset me in any way at all.

Thinking of your albums, is there any word on a release from MM and Manish Pingle?

Hi Matt,
Yes, we have a wonderful film and recording of the Troubadour concert and we are currently looking around for the right person to edit and master it. I would love to go into a studio with Manish and Gurdain, but the practicalities and cost of doing that are prohibitive. We will be releasing a DVD or/and a CD of the concert.
Thanks for asking about it.

You know things become collectible and that's it... simple. I love these albums.

Hi waffle,
I just noticed this post. That's a cool collection you have there!
There are a few compilations and singles missing, and the original vinyl Diving Duck. Also, Mike Cooper & Ian Anderson, The Continuous Preaching Blues, BJ Cole's last album, Transparent Music 2, and the latest one is Earl's album, Peanuts & Monkeys. The Lucy Zirins album, Chasing Clocks, was produced by me, but I did not play on it.
Thank you!

My copy of Slidedance arrived at my office today, will be checking it out tomorrow! Looking forward to hear your interpretation of Sweetheart Darling from way back when.

Hi Matt,
That's an oldie! Recorded in 1990.
I look forward to hearing what you make of Slidedance 23 years on....
Sweetheart Darling was a very successful track and got lots of radio airplay. I found it on a 78 record in a junk shop in 1984 and was immediately taken with it and started playing it. I still do it on most acoustic gigs.

Hi Michael. Have you, what you could call your preferred or favorite tracks on each album? Is there any songs that you would like to record, that you have not as yet?
Take care and all the best. Thanks for the Forum and all your time, energy and encouragement.
Regards
Gouranga
