The BBC documentary about Bert Jansch and the 'Soho scene' of the 1960s is being issued for the first time on DVD, remastered and with extra footage. It has not been broadcast since 1992, though bits are available online. It's a really good documentary, full of the usual Soho suspects, many of whom are alas no longer with us... You can pre-order it from the site below. Cheerily, Gerry C www.pledgemusic.com/projects/acousticroutes

Hi Al - me too! I actually have a DVD copy a mate made for me from a VHS containing the original broadcast. It's, er, not very good... Several years ago I wrote to the BBC (more than once) suggesting that they put the doc out as a DVD, as it is (in my view and that of many others) a very important historical document of an era and artists who had an influence on music far beyond their degree of public acclaim. I even ranted in one letter (just after Hamish Imlach died) that the Beeb seemed to be waiting for everyone in the film to pass away before they put it out. Sadly, that was a bit prophetic....
Cheerily,
Gerry C

Hi Gerry That's great news! I've been on a bit of a Bert/Wizz fest lately and just watched this on the t'Internet (after seeing it on telly eons ago). I have used PledgeMusic in the past with no problems - so am off to order....! Thanks for putting the word out.... Cheers Mike
