The photos appear to show a relatively recent (2004?) Gibson made Dobro Hound Dog. It was made in the USA, not in Asia, based on the stamped Hound Dog logo. I would guess from the tailpiece that there's a pickup installed, but I won't guess which pickup. These can be decent sounding guitars with a proper setup.

Thanks Brad! It has a real full sound and really doesn't sound like a cheap instrument. I guess Gibson doesn't put their name on it because it is not Gibson top grade quality???

Gibson has done as much to damage the Dobro® name as any company could do. There's a good reason why none of the top players play a Dobro® resonator guitar.
Gibson made dobros have unfortunately been quite inconsistent. I've played some that were great, and owned some that were dogs.
Gibson "top grade quality"? Most of the modern Gibson guitars I've seen are not very well made, especially for the price.

I had to join this forum because I just got my first resonator. But I don't know what it is. Has anyone seen similar anywhere? No good hits from google... Is it a f 33 model like in the 1996 gibson catalog? Serial points to year 2010 I think. Here it is: Bad links...here's the folder: www.dropbox.com/sh/4a1qq376nfu81tq/AAAjCn5_i9-qBD9_mRNDmnRDa?dl=0

The serial number points to a 2002 year of manufacture. I don't recognize the model, though.

eitehr _ Michael, Thank you for warm greetings and a great site. As for a reply, please inpect the above photos. I spent some serious money on this Dobro. The guy told me he purchased it in the 80s and he had it retouched by a guitar place....I hope I am dealing with a Dobro D-60. Either way, the instrument has a beautiful voice. Again, thank you for being passionate about making connections. SGK

Hi SGK,
Your guitar is a Dobro model D-60, built in 1985.
Everything is as it should be.

Hello, I recently came across another dobro that I believe to be a OMI from the 70's. I've looked around at the serial numbers online and I'm stumped on this one. My 1972 was easy to date but I've hit a brick wall in my research. The Serial Number reads 72614. I'd really appreciate some advice on this one! Thanks, Chris
