The reason there's no serial numbers is because its a generic korean guitar. The reason its 'pricey' isn't because of any significant quality, but because metal and wood isn't particularly cheap. TT

Hi guys I’m a newbie to this forum and I’ve just bought my first Resonator .. it’s an Ozark which model no idea as it just had a price tag on it and no other information, the store assistant wasn’t helpful regarding the model, his answer was “I don’t know sorry ! “ .. I’ve looked on the interweb and it appears to be an Ozark 3515, from the on-line photo’s .. Ozark 3515 N or B ? , not sure as it weighs in at 3.76kgs / 8lbs 11ozs , no point trying a magnet as it would be attracted to the nickle plating on the guitar body .. no information on the interweb regarding weights of Brass and Steel bodied Ozark guitars, , it’s also strange that there are no serial or model numbers on the guitar, not even a label that can be viewed through the F holes,, s basically stumped , what’s best cleaning option? Chrome cleaner/polish yes or no .. any further info / help would be welcome, about me if it helps , I’m a bassist that can play a few chords on guitar and wanting to learn lap guitarstyle playing hence the Ozark resonator purchase , .. thanks for reading Antz Hello Antz, Welcome to our forum. Just a quickie as it's Christmas Eve and I am supposed to be doing something else! You will not find any identification marks our number on your guitar. Also, some are steel and some are brass and there is no rule to that, they just varied the materials they used. A magnet is the best way to find out. Do not use chrome polish because it is nickel plating, not chrome. Use a good silver polish and then seal it with car wax, or just leave it. I have a question; you have said that you bought this guitar so you can learn to play lap style slide guitar. Can you tell me what type of music you are going to play, and names of a few players that you are going to try and play like, and why you chose that particular instrument? I am asking these questions for a reason, but I won't explain my reason until I have heard you answers. Meanwhile, Merry Christmas! Shine On Michael

The plating is very thin and will be a very weak ferromagnet, even if the body I’d German silver ( a nickel/copper mix) it will not be attached. As MM says, a magnet will show you if it’s steel or not. Pete
