Well, I managed to speak to Robin today at last... I put my order so I expect to have my MM Blues around early September. It's quite a lot of time... but I'll be patient. I hope I can sell my Duolian in the meantime, so I'll have the money to buy the Blues! Only trouble is the choice between a 12-fret and a 14-fret. From an esthetic point of viewI like a 12-fret much more, yet I'd enjoy that extra room at the end of the neck 'cuase I use a capo on the 2nd or 3rd fret sometimes... This is a tough one! --Carlo

That's great news Carlo... We are working towards improving the regularity of shipments of MM guitars, but due to our very strict quality control procedures that we have in place, it does take the manufacturers a little more time to complete each shipment. I have always preferred playing 12 fret guitars and just got used to using a capo on the first four frets. I don't even think about it, I have played that way for thirty years. Thank you for your order... Shine On Michael

Looking to get a 'Blues' and would like to know if it will convert to Left Handed without problems? Statistically 6 out of 7 dwarves aren't Grumpy.

There are a couple on ebay right now, including one from Ron (Robins right or left hand man?). I don't see why it wouldn't easily convert (the saddle might be OK just turning the biscuit 180' round?). Good to see another midlands reso basher. TT

Hi Davey,
Welcome to our forum.
A single cone resonator guitar (National-style and Dobro-style) will convert to a left handed instrument very easily. TT is correct that the biscuit bridge assembly will just be turned around, but you will need a new bone nut cut for left handed stringing.
I hope that helps,
Thanks,
Shine On Michael

Worth pointing out that moving the biscuit should not entail rotating the cone, however tempting it might appear. Also, because you'll need to remove the cone to get at the screw, make a little mark with a felt tip pen or on some masking tape that you can remove from the cone later together with a reference mark in the conewell. Go easy on that screw! Sorry if this is teaching how to suck eggs.

Steve is correct that you should not rotate the cone, just the biscuit. However, on a new guitar that has not been played, it would not be a problem to rotate the cone, as it has not bedded in yet. Marking the cone and conewell with a felt tip marker is something I always do as a matter of course when removing a cone for any reason. Thanks for your interest in MM guitars Shine On Michael

Thanks to all for the replies. You are all such a helpful bunch of people. Sounds like the right move, now I just have to decide 12 fret or 14 if there are any available.

I would love a Lightning or Blues, but freight just kills it to here. I am looking at a single cone soon a 12 fret single, but the Republics/Hot Rods are 3/4 the cost to buy. Congrats on the guitar...now the wait

Hi Kiwi,
I would love you to have an MM Blues or MM Lightning. If it is any help, I could get one shipped to you direct from Shanghai. The shipping (by air) to NZ from Shanghai is approximately $100. The guitar would be the same as UK price.
I think that doing it this way makes it affordable.
I hope it helps,
Shine On Michael

Yeah... now the wait... I managed to talk to Robin @ Busker Guitars last week, but he never replied to my further email and PM... I know that I can trust him, but better communication would definitely help.

Robin is in the middle of a particularly busy couple of weeks, and I am sure he will contact you when he can. He will not let you down.
