Hi there !
Anyone know if anyone makes vintage-style pyjama cord guitar straps ? Got a lovely new-build 12 string guitar that is begging for one.
Thanks in advance
Would prefer not to have to buy the pyjamas too !!

Hi again !
Thanks for that. I think I may have one somewhere that came in an OHSC with a National Duolian inside ! Need to find it first as I can't remember what condition it was in AND seem to only remember that at the time, I couldn't figure how to get the cord to stay on the strap button, let alone how to attach to the headstock.

Just tie it around the headstock and strap button and knot it.

Is this what you mean? You can find it easily in a fabric or kraft shop, it's called drapery chord among other things. I attached it just like Michael suggested. The Style 0 is a bit heavy to completely trust it, but I only use it sitting down anyways. Keeps the guitar right where I need it. I made these for all my vintage guitars. They work great on acoustics, but I always check it to make sure it's firmly attached at the bottom button. It's never come off. I did sew in some extra stitches to tighten it up after I attached it on the bottom though.

I sewed a small loop on each end, kinda like you make loops in a fly (fishing ) line.

Here's an off the wall suggestion, buy a pair of vintage trouser braces, (ebay) the ones with the leather ends with a button hole in, take those off the elastic and loop your cord through the end where the elastic was attached now you have a cord with leather ends with button hole sorted!
