RE: "my Amp Dr John 6 watt Champ Amp".
searched those terms to no avail. know from your past postings it was made by a custom builder.
is yours the Leo 5F1 circuit? one knob-on/volume/off? 1-5Y3, 1-6V6GT, 1-12AX7?
your continued praise has me wanting to look into getting one.
thank you for your time, mitchfit

John made quite a few Fender style amps that were all the earliest circuits. I don't know the Leo 5F1 by name, but if that is the earliest circuit, then that is what John built. John did not brand his amps, they have nothing written on them to identify them. I am sure they do occasionally turn up for sale, but the only way to find out would be to ask if it was built by John in Holyport, near Maidenhead. A long shot unless the seller mentions it in the ad. It is a wonderful amp and In would not part with it. I will post some photos for you sometime. Shine On Michael

MM,
after some digging, it was a poorly worded question on my part. should have asked if it was a 5E1 circuit instead.
this would be the easiest way to identify one--prior to this the pre-amp circuit used a 6SJ7 tube/valve instead of a 12AX7 or ECC83 designated tube/valve.
