Spotify recommended this Smithsonian recording of live performance the Georgia Sea Island Singers along with other players, among them a duet with Fred Mcdowell and Mable Hillery... That's great! I have not heard it before. Mable Hillary has a beautiful voice. Shine On Michael

Mabel Hillery's singing is deep and old soul like. From the moment your hear her, you're hooked. Can't say why, but reminds me how I felt when I hear Geeshie Wiley sing Last Kind Words. Thanks for posting.

Continuing on a theme of Little Feat: I’ve just picked up the remastered and expanded 3CD version of this: It’s a great listen! Cheers Andy

Seasick Steve, with Luther Dickinson at Glastonbury over the weekend. Funky. Seen on the telly - I wasn't there. It all looks very different from the one Glastonbury Festival I did go to in 1978. An event so small it's virtually off record. Everybody wondering if Hawkwind would appear. Whether they did or not is anybody's guess.

This was a big one for me in 1979/80 - a great album called Lost In Austin. I played it 'til it wore out. Here's a couple of tracks....
Such a great lineup.
Bass – Carl Radle Drums – Jim Keltner Guitar – Albert Lee Guitar, Slide Guitar – Eric Clapton Keyboards – Dick Sims Piano, Vocals, Guitar – Marc Benno Saxophone – Dickie Morresey Producer, Engineer – Glyn Johns

One of mine and many people's favourite Old Grey Whistle Test performances, Steve Marriot's Humble Pie performing Black Coffee. The three girls are the Blackberries.
51 years ago and I remember seeing it go out live.
So good!

anybody, is that a short scale circa 1960's Vox 12 string Mr. Cooder is playing, or a one-off? couldn't see any logo, perhaps due to extra shiny head stock finish?
watched many times. can even tell those are marlboro smoxe on the keyboard, but clueless about the guit.
help requested,

kinda the same feel as hot foot blues. when it begins. was saving the shortened AM radio version of it for lyrics thread...
Quicksilver Messenger Service improv of a Bo Diddley tune, obscured deeply in "happy trails" style music, heavily late '60's psycherdillium:
I walked 47 miles of barbed wire I got a cobra snake for a necktie I got a brand new house by the roadside Made out of rattlesnake hide I got me a chimney made on top Made from a human skull Come on, take a little walk now tell me
Who do you love? Who do you love? Who do you love? Who do you love? Who, who, who, who?
Come on Arlene, take me by the hand Let me know that you understand me
Who do you love? Who do you love? Who do you love? Who do you love?
Ride nine times on the midnight train Through the fire and cold dark rain
Who do you love? Who do you love? Who do you love? Who, who, who, who?
I've got a tombstone hand in a graveyard mine Just 22 and I don't mind dying
Who do you love? (Love) Who do you love? (Love) Who do you love? (Love) Who, who, who, who?

It's a mid-60s Vox Mando Guitar 12 string. While you can't clearly see the image of the logo on the headstock, compared to a clear image, you can see the font size is the same, the length of the logo is the same, it's situated in the exact same spot on the neck centered between the machine heads, and it appears to have a zero fret. Also, there's a lot of talk on other sites about Ry Cooder playing a Vox Mando Guitar 12 string. Attachments:
