Correct! Not mine though...on behalf of my excellent but eBay-lazy teacher friend! He told me about Paul Geremia after I told him that Uatru & I caught Todd Albright live and thought he was great. Conclude from that what you wish 🤔😉💵 Happy to assist PD!

I never knew that this show happened...and right down the road from me in beautiful Downtown Passaic NJ...saw lots of shows there but I was busy changing diapers in ‘82.
Mick Taylor is phenomenal. Check out part 2 also. Enjoy.

During these strange days, I have been listening to a lot of Hawaiian Music, hard to be stressed or annoyed listening to this one This is a wonderful album. I got it when it was first released on vinyl in 1981 as volume 1 of a two volume set. Then in 1993 it was rereleased on CD, which also came my way. It was an early digital clean up job, which was taken from the 78s to DAT, and then to the NoNoise software, which at the time was state of the art. The transfers and clean up were done by George Morrow and Chris Strachwitz. It was pretty well done and it contains some amazing music. Also, it featured that beautiful colourised photo of Sam Ku West on the front cover. The Hawaiian Cowboy is a novelty song recorded by Sol K. Bright playing an early electric lap steel. However, this album does also contain some of the most beautiful acoustic Hawaiian steel guitar music ever recorded. Highly recommended. Shine On Michael

Shine On Michael Thanks for the info, I stumbled on it by accident fairly recently. My girlfriend (also player and singer) have been listening to it very frequently for most of the lockdown. The song I posted above we considered the "funniest", but I agree there is some fantastic music on it. It has also inspired me to start making a lap steel.

Great song from the archives by Dick Gaughan--pity the guitar's so low in the mix.

Funny I was watching him last night as well. Love the way he ignored the interviewer and just said and played what he wanted. Nice and relaxed attitude and playing!

Indeed he was. That's the Lomax interview. Sam was a member of the legendary Mississippi Sheiks with Walter Vinson and Bo Carter. Apparently he was related to Charley Patton, possibly his half brother. ....and Walter Vinson's own recordings ....and Bo Carter These guys were heavy duty musicians and are definitely in the list of "Legends of American Music" Shine On Michael
