An unusual MM lightning can be seen [and heard] on `superjonno69 breadline` [sorry don`t know how to make a `link`]. The guitar is double-tracked, once with a magnetic pick-up and overdriven amp ,once with a mic. Look out for the `homage` to Benny Hill . Sharp eyes and readers of other threads may also find out what makes this MM odd. Pete T

Not bad.. Not bad at all. And here was me thinking the music scene in Cambridge was totally dead...

So far nobody has commented on the MM Lightning and as pete puts it...'what makes this MM guitar odd?'

The only things I can see are that it doesn't have the slotted headstock that an MM has and that it has a badge on the headstock rather than the usual "stamped" MM. I guess its an MM body with a replacement neck?

Maybe it's a sneak preview of the mythical "new product" ;-)

Looking at the wear on the back of the headstock, the neck and tuners , with the National logo ( if in fact it is a National logo) . I would say it is a straight neck swap with a National one ............ Great song and video , I remember you from the Slide festival, played mostly lap style though.

Richc andGrowler are on the right track, but it`s a bit more than just a neck swap. I only play in open `G` , the song is in `E`, and I didn`t use a capo. Pete T

What difference did you find that a neck swap made to how the guitar sounds/plays?

Ah! its a 14-fret Lightning (well, more like 13-and-a-bit-fret). So is that a National Baritone neck to compensate for the scale length?
