Hi All Sam speaks wise words - MACs are less susceptible to virus/worm/trojan attacks due to a lower installed base. However, the M$ predominance is being challenged, and I would urge any one, on whatever platform who connects to the internet to get an AV programme, and if you're not behind a home router, get a software firewall. Take all patches both from your operating system vendor and from applications - there is a recent trend towards malware writers trying to exploit vulnerabilities in commonly running software such as Adobe Acrobat reader. Contrary to Eastmountain's assertion, MACs are not bulletproof when it comes to viruses. Hope this helps

Wry smile Mac fans have been too smug for too long about the 'invunerability' of their 'superior' OS. Wise up guys.
