I've just ordered a custom sized slide from Daddyslide too.
I must say, Jan is a terrific bloke, very helpful and attentive.
I'll let you know what it's like..............

Hi charleyhouse. Pleased to see that you have ordered one of Jans slides aswell. I'd be interested to know how you get on with that. I can certainly echo what you have said.
I now have two really good slides that I am genuinely happy with and love using. A Diamond Bottlenecks Red House and a Daddyslide Brass.
I have never used a stainless steel however, so.........I'm hoping Michael, or someone is going to jump in here and tell me where I can get one. That would pretty much complete the picture for me.
Rich.

The best steel slides I know at present are being made & sold by 'The Guitar Spot' in Beeston, Nottingham. www.theguitarspot.com Mention that I recommended you. Shine On Michael.

Thanks Michael. Thats top of my list of priorities for tomorrow evening. I'll definitely check that out.
Just out of interest, do you have one slide that is your absolute favourite or do you use several different ones. I associate you with steel. Do you have different slides for different songs for instance?
Rich.

Hi Rich,
I have used the same steel slide for many years, but I do occasionally use different ones. Not necessarily for a particular song, but just for a change of feel and touch. It makes things interesting for me and takes me out of my comfort zone, which I like.
I have a lot of slides in my house - I really do mean a lot!!!

Hey Folks, maybe someone of you heard about Peter Wahl. He made his own steel Slides ( called "hellhound slides" ) in V2A with the measurments: lengh:................60 - 60 - 60 mm inner diameter:....18 - 19 - 19 mm wallthickness:......3,5 - 3 - 3,5mm He modify old stellas and other guitars. If you got the chance to play one of his guitars, try them. I love the small 3/4 stella with a customized resonator and a P-90 pickup. she looks so sweet, and sounds great. have a look for the guitars: 100152.homepagemodules.de/t1592f29-Alte-Gitarren-mit-Resonator.html( scroll down please ) or get in touch with him: pablo.wahl@gmx.de Have a great day, Jan

Wowee! This is a slide!
Superb quality, excellent craftsmenship, perfect weight and perfect size.
I must say I found the price 40.95euros, prohibitive at first, eventually came round though and I'm glad I did. It's worth every penny. Well, euro. You know what I mean......
I've said before Jan is a very helpful, fastidious and friendly man to deal with. Anyone interested in a handmade Brass slide should mail him. NOW.
Sliding about all over the place, Charley.

@charley: Great to hear that you like our slide. Believe me, the shipping cost to UK is 15% of the whole price. That's much, I think.
Many Thanks,
Jan

Hey Jan, The slide is perfect!
It's easy to be put off by the price when you can go to any guitar shop and buy one for £5.
These slides are in a different league though.
I've never had a bespoke, hand made slide before. As any player with even moderate experience knows, the usual guitar shop slides are quite frankly shite compared. I wanted to point that out to anyone thinking of getting one, who might be put off by the price.
The cost, considering the work going in to making these, is well justified. The cost of postage (included in the price) is high, mine was pretty heavy.
Thanks again Jan, Charley.
