There's a fare few of the folks signed up for The 1st British Slide Guitar Festival who will be attending 'Pocklington' which is not so long now! It will be good to make everybody's acquaintance. That way when we get to Atherstone it will be a very friendly atmosphere.
I am already wondering what to wear to project the right 'Country Blues' Image. Should it be the yellow 'Tootal' tie with little riding crops and the horse looking though a horse shoe - wrong kind of country , or more casual paisley cravat? There is always the Son House 'Steam Boat Gambler' bow tie, but that is such a hard look to pull off. Even more difficult is which guitar - The Tricone I slide on or the Flat top I pick on for amost everything else? Or Both? I guess 150yds I can always walk back for the other one - what if I miss something?
While I decide, I guess that I'd better start printing up some Flyers for 'my do' to distribute.

Hi, I had a great time at the Blues weekend. Nice meeting new people and will be back again. Still miffed about losing my bag but a quick trawl through e-bay has got me some of the bits I need. I promise to learn some box patterns before next time!
Cheers Ken

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the message. It was a pleasure to meet you. I am really sorry about you losing your bag of slide tools. It must be at the Arts Centre, I am sure nobody would have stolen it. How frustrating.
Your playing is much better than you said when we met on Friday. You have a good feel for playing slide, and a great feel for playing lap-steel. Although I only heard you play a few licks I could immediately tell that you have a natural feel for playing lap-steel guitar.
A new cone and spider will improve your guitar and hopefully inspire you to play it a lot.
Keep in touch,
Shine On Michael

Thanks for that, very kind. It was a good weekend, even got an idea for a song there, probably come to nothing but these events do inspire me (temporarily).
See you at Percy's festival
