National Steel ('Furry' Lewis Cohen and Stuart 'Marshcat' Cumberpatch) are playing at Watford's Folk at the Pumphouse Arts Centre (Local Board Road, Lower Watford High Street, Watford, WD17 2JP) on Friday 17th July, 8:30 start (for floor spots). Buzz Brown will be joining us on harp for some numbers. Be great to see a few fellow forum members there! Featuring probably the largest selection of vintage Nationals you will ever see on one stage (1927 round-neck tricone, style 1 1/2 square-neck, style 4 square-neck, exploding palm tree tricone and sundry single cones: Triolians (two!), Duolians, Style 0...). I might even give the new NRP an outing ;D Aloha, Marshcat www.lemonrock.com/nationalsteel

Yee Gadds one of those new fangled post war resos has entered the Marshcat stable, I thought at first you had laid your hands on the Liberty style O but the engraving is different and the inlay with the date on the fingerboard points towards something else................ It,s like trying to put together the House with Lloyd Grossman (does he still do that or is he up to his neck in pasta sauce!) Good luck with the gig too far for me I will catch up when you are more local. Regards Lee

Hello Lee: I know, I know, 'new-fangled' and 'post-war', but I just couldn't resist the sheer art deco beauty of the thing. Here's the full picture (well, apart from the engraving on the sides...):

That is quite a thing! I have seen pics of this guitar before, but I had not noticed the mistake with the Roman numerals on fret nineteen. Shine On Michael.

Thought someone might spot it, Michael! These colonials just don't have the benefits of a classical education... Could get it fixed under the warranty, I suppose Reminds me of one of Bob's NRP tricones, which was engraved "mon raison d'etre"... I told him it should be "mon raisin d'etre" ;D Grapefully yours, Marshcat

Actually it was Mark that spotted it first. I don't think we had seen such a close up photo before. As for the grapes.....that is very funny!
Shine On Michael.

AND they bottled out on xvii altogether!
<------- Of course, things were a lot simpler in 1927.
And while we're at it Michael, why do your guitars have '2000' on the palm rest???
