Hello Michael, I'm interested in information on buying one of your resonators. I've e-mailed Busker's to no avail. Can you help? Thanks.

Hello bmiller,
Welcome to our forum and thank you for your enquiry.
What information would you like? Send me a PM on this forum and I will help and advise you in any way I can as soon as I see the message.
I cannot say why Robin at Busker has not responded, but I can assure you we both do our best to give the best possible service.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Shine On Michael.

Hello jumpohlen,
Once again I apologize. Robin does try to keep up with all the emails, but due to the success of MM guitars and the fact that we are operating without any staff until the business is more established, sometimes it takes longer than we would like to get back to everyone. When did you send your email?
Having said that - it is not your problem and I will do anything I can to help and advise you. And I am sure Robin will contact you as soon as he sees your email.
The 12 and 14 fret MM Blues are actually quite different. My personal preference is for a 12 fret. This is because I like the bigger body - I like the balance, the tone, and the playability of what a 12 fret steel bodied guitar offers. The 14 fret National Duolian was one of their most popular models, if not THE most popular. It has a smaller lighter body, a slight radius to the 14 fret mahogany neck and lots of access to the high frets. The tone is bright, warm and loud. Very punchy.
In my opinion, and this is only my viewpoint; I think the 14 fret makes a great guitar for fingerpicking mostly in regular EADGBE tuning, with the occasional slide in open tunings. The 12 fret to me is the opposite; it is a wondeful guitar to play slide in open tunings with the occasional EADGBE tune. This of course is ONLY my opinion as I know many great players who do not follow this rule. John Hammond and Blind Boy Fuller are good examples of exceptions to that rule. John Hammond - one of the foremost acoustic blues players in the world and plays all his slide guitar stuff on a 14 fret National Duolian in EBEG#BE and EAEAC#E. Blind Boy Fuller, one of the exceptional players in the history of the blues - recorded many of his greatest performances fingerpicking in EADGBE tuning on a 12 fret National Duolian.
Jumpohlen - tell me about what you are looking for. What type of player you are and what repertoire you are going to play on your resonator guitar?
Today is Sunday. I will do my best to check into this thread later today.
Shine On Michael.

Hi Michael,
I really appreciate your effort for giving me the right information I need. one of my problem is that I'm italian, and it's not easy to find some good value resonator guitars in the shops, and it's also difficult to have right and useful support from the sellers.
I've played folk guitar (actually my main instrument is a Larrivee OM5) almost regularly in the last 20 years.
recently I've approached also bluegrass mandolin and clawhammer banjo, mainly just for my own pleasure and fun. My dog also use to laugh when I play.
the banjo gives me the interest in open tuning, and as a consequence I have also a weissenborn copy completely hand built here in Italy, with first class woods. the sound quality is amazing, and tha prica was amazing too. if you like I will send you the link for the luthier site.
back to us, my interest is for a truly vintage bues resonator sound, playing mainly with slide in open tuning, and after your reply I think that the 12 fret version is right for me.
what I need to know from Robin is how much will be the shipping fee to Italy, how to pay and also if there are some "B stock" available, that can be a more valuable bargain in those days.
I'm very happy for the possibility to communicate directly with you.
have a nice sunday.
Giampaolo

Hello Giampaolo,
I am happy to have helped and advised you. I was concerned about your problem and forgot to welcome you to our forum. I am always happy to welcome new members.
The questions you have just asked me about shipping costs to Italy, and whether we have any B stock, are questions that only Robin can answer. I am sure that he has probably not been home this weekend and will answer you either tonight or tomorrow. He really does do his best to answer emails as quickly as he can.
We would be very interested to see the website of the luthier you mentioned. Please would you start a new thread in the TALKING BLUES section about that.
If you have any more problems, please let me know. If you have any questions, please ask anytime, and when you receive your MM Blues guitar, let me know that you are pleased with it.
Shine On, Ciao, Michael.

Hi giampaolo,
I have tried sending you a message tonight to both the email addresses you have supplied today. One keeps bouncing back so hopefully the other has worked?
Yours,

Hi Michael,
finally the mail was working, so I have the opportunity to fix the problem, having very good communication and a lot of information from Robin.
And after all of this writing back and forth, maybe soon will be time to play, 'cause Robin proposed me a sort of "B-stock" ready for shipping, and I would like to test it soon as possible, without waiting the time needed for the new batch shipping.
if everything is ok I should have the guitar within few days, and then I will give you my impression.
But one great thing that I like already now, is the friendly way in which suggestion and experience goes from your side (I mean from both of you), back to hobbiest guitar players like me, more curious than expert, but anyway willing to play good instrument, not only cheap...
Thank you for all of your effort!
Ciao
Giampaolo
