Thanks Zak Just discovered this thread. I've only down loaded the Son house so far. Absolutely Brilliant! I am so glad I found and joined this forum (thanks Michael). Looking forward to hearing them all. Cheers Percy

Thanks Percy. There is a wealth of information and great stuff on this forum. It can be hard to find sometimes, but there is a lot on here.
What worries me about it is that the whole forum is online at Proboards HQ and if their system went down, we would lose everything. There is too much to manually save, so we just have to hope!
Shine On Michael.

Glad to share the good stuff. These aren't commercial recordings....what good are they if no one is listening to them and enjoying them? Pass 'em around to your friends and enjoy!

Hey Bod, thanks a lot for bumping this thread and thanks of course to Zak for posting these recordings in the first place. There is some absolutely superb stuff here! I've been downloading it in bits all week. It takes a while but it most certainly is worth it.
I've only dipped into it all so far but, from what I've heard, the Ry Cooder shows sound excellent, as does the Fred McDowell and the Johnny Shines. Skip James doing Illinois Blues is spellbinding. And I can also echo Bill Stig's earlier post; if you've ever thought John Hurt is a bit 'tame' for your taste give this a listen - it's much more forceful than his recorded work.
The only downside is that the files are pretty big (the John Hurt show is 110mb!) but at least it's finally prompted me to shell out for an external hard drive for my rather ancient creaking computer.

Oh, forgot to say that the Robert Pete Williams show has been removed from the Rapidshare server, because no one has accessed it in a long time, but everything else still works fine. You have to be patient, it all takes a while. The site sometimes tells you that you've reached your free download limit, but it only blocks you for about nine minutes and then you're off and running again.

Oh, forgot to say that the Robert Pete Williams show has been removed from the Rapidshare server, because no one has accessed it in a long time Shame to lose it, so I've re-zipped and uploaded the copy of the RPW show I have on my machine - hope it'll come out alright (seemed to work when I gace it a quick test): rapidshare.com/files/398163431/01track01.zip
