Rex Aragon archtop made by Harmony for Gretsch in 30/40s. US made archtop, spruce top over birchwood back and sides. Has a large V neck, excellent action and frets. It's had a neck reset before I bought it.
Would prefer collection or meet in the middle but I could send it. It comes in a foam gigbag.
Price: £600
Let me know if you'd like to know more.

Apologies, missed in the previous post. I am based in South Manchester. Happy to meet people within reason and I travel about every now and again.

Hi there !
Looks lovely / cool !
Any more pictures ? Show the whole front, the whole back, and a close up of the headstock front & back, thanks ,
Is the fretboard extension raised / floating, or it glued directly to the guitar top, like on a flat-top guitar ? (If glued down, how tall is the fretboard last fret, above the guitar top beside of it ? (Looking to see how much space under there for a Dearmond FHC pickup. Thanks !)

Hi Snakehips,
Would you like some extra photos? I am happy to take them if the album on imgur isn't sufficient.
The fretboard is glued straight to the soundboard. I will measure the string height and fretboard height off the soundboard this weekend.
I did think about trying to install a sanded down p90. This would have been tight but I believe* that a Dearmond FHC would fit.
*I will double check though.

Hi again,
I Dearmond will fit under the strings, from the bridge end, to maybe 2/3rds of the way twoards the end of the fretboard, but not all the way up to the fretboard, usually, with a non-floating/raised fretboard. Not something that would put me off the guitar as such.
"Very large V-neck" to some people will be too big to some people, and "nice and fat, how I like 'em" to other people.
I have some guitars with big necks - but wouldn't want anything massive - a good test is a standard Shubb capo - how far do you have to unscrew the adjustment screw, to get the capo to fit nicely (not too tight, or too loose) ? If it won't actually fit on the guitar, then that's too big for me !

Objectively: the measurements of neck depth (including fretboard) are: 1st fret 26.06mm 9th fret 31.14mm
I don't have a schubb capo but will try and find one for you.
Qualitatively, this neck does not feel as large as some guitars I have played. It is certainly a large V neck but is not in anyway the biggest and clubiest. I should say though that I do like a large neck.
I would advise playing it before though. I'd also be happy if anyone bought it by post they could have a couple of weeks honeymoon period and if it doesn't work for them happy for a return and only shopping cost covered.
Snakey: I don't have any current plans to visit Edinburgh but my brother lives there and I suspect I could make up a good excuse to visit.

Hi again !
I'll need to check the dimensions of some of my bulkier guitar necks (I'm at work at the moment) - as your guitar's neck is hopefully around the same size, not a lot bigger. Been looking for another archtop for a spare Dearmond I have - so I can keep one in Open G and one in standard tuning.
You don't have the scratchplate by any chance ?
Visit to Edinburgh would be cool.

Just as an update. I don't think that a rhythm chief will fit under the string anywhere except right next to the bridge. There is only about 9mm clearance under the strings and since the strings are radiused and so is the top then it's not possible to fit the 8mm rhythm chief across the whole strings without pinching the bass and treble sides.

Would it be possible to ship it to Poland? Is it 16 inch or smaller?

By the way, ive now put a jazz neck pickup in it. It looks like below. the pickup runs straight to an end pin jack with no volume or tone as I didn't want to add any more holes I didn't need to. There is only one 3mm hole by the corner of the fretboard if someone wished to return it to no electronics. I also haven't decided if I might keep it with the pickup! It's a fun little electric guitar.

Why did you do that? Only a 3mm hole by the fretboard, FFS? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Another one bites the dust.

PD, each to their own I think applies here. This isn't a ultra rare valuable guitar and I don't believe originality applies. Either way, I'm happy with the modifications that I've made.
