Do you know what resonator he was playing Jon? And did he play slide? I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to Seasick Steve. The hype beat me long before I had any interest in any old time music. Glad you had a grand old time matey 😎

He has been known to use a Triolian. Was it this one Jono?

Hi,
I've just joined the forum and hope you don't mind me replying to the post. I like Seasick Steve, and believed in his stories about being a hobo, stowing away on trains etc, at first!
Here's a video of him playing with Shanti, around 1970 (he's the bassist).

Yes, not quite the back-story you would think from publicity hand outs. From what I have been told ( and a quick look at the inter web) he started out ( as many did in the 60s) learning blues based guitar and then went on to more complex stuff. A very well travelled and varied life later he come back to the Blues, but the ‘hobo’ lifestyle should be taken with a pinch of salt. Pete
Still has brought blues based guitar to a new audience, and they don’t seem to mind his advanced age ( I am at least 3 months younger)
