Hi All….just joined the National club by purchasing a second hand 2007 Reso Rocket. I’m just after some help with the finish on the this particular model. It has an aged appearance and some areas of tarnish have appeared. I’m not unhappy with the look and like the aged appearance. Just like to know if anyone can identify the model…and any information for its care…...Many Thanks…Hoss

NRP guitars are not my area of expertise. Unless anyone else on here can tell you more, my advice would be to speak with someone at the National factory. I am sure they would be able to answer any questions you have about that guitar.
Please let us know what you find out.

Thanks Michael That will be the next step. I’m amazed by the projection this guitar has, yet is still capable of subtle tones. By the way had some lessons on the Mohan Veena with Manish. Haven’t committed enough time to do them justice yet. Seem to have a few things going on with a guitar build, a new 75 year B6 Panda to play and this new reso. Also have your album recorded with Manish on regular rotation…Great stuff. Let you know what i find out

It's a small world. You're in Australia talking to me in England about having guitar lessons from my friend in India and that you need to speak to the factory in California about your guitar. And without a comma in sight!!!

Hoss, There is a useful FAQ section on the NRP website that includes advice on caring for guitars with a 'raw series' finish. That might help. There's also a page for Reso Rocket N that lists all the specs for that model. Lovely guitar - congrats!

Thanks Darryl and Mike.
Think i will take a lot of photos and send them to National. Ive heard of the raw finish; however i thought that was new from 2020. One way or another the marks, or tarnish is just cosmetic. Still getting over how good this thing sounds.

It looks like a Vintage Steel finish. They're supposed to tarnish as they age I believe

Thanks for all the help. I did have to rub back the guitar to get rid of some marks that looked out off place. In the process I have had NRP confirm the history on the guitar and the internal signature seem genuine. The finish is called antique brass. I’m just going let get all tarnished again.
