Is this a new word meaning "please" or "thank you"?
Please enlighten this old git.
Thank you, PD

I looked it up - one meaning is " Expression used to convey waiting for a response when there is none". Seems to come from a scene from a movie called Ferris Bueller's day off.
And to repond to the OP request I don't know where you would find a mule resonator, sorry!

It's a slang term derived from the movie Ferris Buller's Day Off. Good Luck finding a Mule. They have a HUGE wait list. I played one in a shop and was underwhelmed by the tone. Build quality was nice tho. I think I'd still prefer a NRP. Unless it's the Mule Mavis. I'd definitely jump on one of those!

Hi Everyone
Yes, Bueller is a reference to Ferris Bueller. I thought I was unlikely to get a response!
Can anyone recommend a reso with that "just dragged out of a swamp" look, pickup and great build quality then?
Thanks!

Yup!
Buy an MM Lightning, immerse it in a swamp for a few weeks, drag it out, hose it down, then fit new strings and a Sixtus/MM pickup, tune it and play.
On the other hand just buy a secondhand MM Lightning, fit a pickup and play the hell out of it, don't even bother cleaning it, and you'll be more than happy with a better sounding reso whilst saving yourself a small fortune.
Just my tanners worth...
Thank you, PD.

Mule Guitars does not go unnoticed by National Guitars, hence their 'Raw Series'. Steel or brass bodies that are finished with only a thin layer of wax, so that the material gets more (or faster) the chance to patinate. For you perhaps a good choice between either: a fake Mule patina or a cheap Chinese copy that will always be considered a cheap Chinese copy, even after thirty years?

Or.. You remove the wax layer from such a 'raw' National (degrease the guitar) and spray (with a plant sprayer) a diluted (with water) mixture of selenium dioxide and iron sulphate (aka stained glass patina) on the raw steel or brass plate: Super Black PatinaMy experiment: Maybe also the secret behind the Mule patina..?

"Not the best thing to say on my forum and time will prove you wrong.

This is true. At the recent celebrated Basingstoke retrospective, there was a "cheap Chinese copy" being played on stage by Pete Webber, and very good it sounded too. Such experiences make one question how it is that an "original" can justify four or five times the asking price, and it cannot be explained solely by discrepancies in cost of living. It follows that such potential oxymorons as "cheap Chinese copy" do more to expose "show most- take all" profligacies than actually to denigrate the Asian tin cans. That said, even my untrained cab doors can distinguish bottom of the barrel junk, and you don't have to go as far as China before encountering that.
Perhaps the best thing I can say is that I have always been entirely satisfied with my MM(B)/Lightning, and there is no way I would entertain a Mule, NRP or probably any other.
Maybe a National one day, but not at the current prices so that's extremely unlikely. ;<D
