Fat Possum announced on their facebook page premiering on youtube the Memphis 1969 Festival on August 6. The promo shows clips of - among others - Fred McDowell, Robert Wilkins and Jo Ann Kelly - but I guess it depends on what was videod at the time. The Wilkins and Kelly clips are very rare - I think there's only one small lo res of Wilkins and Jo Ann's on youtube are from her latter years. I signed up for notice of the premiere.
Quite excited especially about the new McDowell. I looked for McDowell on Historic Films some years ago and HF listed on their website they had clips of him but what showed on the recent documentary (Shake Em On Down) were also the only readily available on Historic Films. None of the others were used and I was hoping they would be. I asked and they wanted thousands plus professional research qualifications for HF to agree to try and find them but after seeing what was used in the documentary I don't think the listings serve as more than a record of what was shot and available at one time. -Harriet
Seems the clip is programmed so you have to see it on youtube (the link at the bottom not the arrow)
