Daddario chromes are my preferred string, on electric spanish and lap steels, I have had sets on literally years, in the long run good value for money. Lee

I too keep some strings on for years Lee. I think I may have some claim there regarding the Rotosound roundwounds on my Gretsch Committee bass, circa 1980 which still play and sound fine. (Sorry PD!)
TBH, longevity on tenure has more to do with frequency of use here, so my main squeeze acoustic gets on average a new set once every 12-18 months. Ha! This says a great deal about D'Addario coated strings- much maligned by lots of folks if I'm to believe some of what I read. I've had a set of polished D'Addario coated strings on my Fylde mandolin for so many years that I forget how long. They even survived the installation of a new bronze tailpiece and they still sound superb. Let's not forget that we are often reminded that it's all in the fingers of the player?
But I digress!
