Hi everyone. Thanks for adding me here. I’m new(ish) to Resophonics, although an electric guitar junkie for years. I have 2 Icarus guitars, a Brass bodied Duolian, a wood body parlour, and an Epiphone Hound Dog. I was recently impressed with MM guitars through youtube, and when a Blues 28 came up on eBay I snapped it up. I must say I’m delighted with it, so much so that a steel body MM Blues is now on the shopping list, when funds permit.

Hi Denbo, you should fit in fine, this is a very varied community. There are plenty of novice Reso players as well as old hands. Electric guitars also feature quite a bit , mainly for slide guitar but not exclusively. So you should find things of interest. Pete
There is usually someone who can answer any questions you have and share experiences.

Thank you Al. I have no way of knowing how early mine is, but I did wonder at the lack of “MM” on the bridge cover. I fitted a set of MM Newtone Nationals today, and it came to life in a big way. I’m delighted.

Hi Denbo G,
Welcome to our forum.
The first run of MMB28s was 20 or so guitars. Without checking, I am sure it was in the Spring of 2013. They arrived without the MM hand-rests, which at the time was an annoying mistake, but as time went by it became their identifiable marking.
Enjoy!

I had no.14 I believe. Given up trying to persuade the buyer to sell it back!

Thank you Michael, wow, now I feel honoured, it’s historic in a way. I didn’t realise it’s had that much mileage, but credit to previous owner(s) care. She’s in great condition, and now I’ve given her some TLC she sounds as good s she looks.
Lonelyjelly, I think many of us have had the selling regret. Mine was an “un-cool at the time” 70’s Strat I traded away in the 90’s. I tried in vain to track it down.

A big welcome from me too Denbo. I have a 1973 Strat that I viewed similarly back in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Trouble is I "ruined" mine by a) having it refinished in red by Roka's in Endell Street, Covent Garden. Not bad in itself but when I picked it up I commented upon how much I liked the red paint and the assistant said something like "well I'd call it more of a red plastic skin actually." -Yikes! Thankyou Mark Knopffler for that prompt! and b) I had the maple neck milled down and an ebony fret board put on. It was a pretty rare mod back then to say the least and it came with a customer liability failure risk. That shows how little I regarded it back then. Now I have grown to appreciate it and objectively speaking it is a very good guitar. It has made me very circumspect about all the "vintage Strats are way better" pundits! Given the choice though, I don't think I'd go for a seventies Strat again- you can see how deep those subliminal scars go!

Welcome Denbo G, good to see you're enjoying that Blues 28, great guitars they are. A Blues would be good company for it too, they have a lovely sound.

Thank you Stevie, wow you went the whole 9 yards with that one. I call it the Hank syndrome, those of us who were obsessed with Fiesta Red Strats. Back in the day as a boy I pestered my Dad to take me to see TheYoung Ones film 3! times JUST to see Hank Marvin play.
Thanks for the welcome Gordon, I think I’m lucky to have nabbed it, it’s rare to see a used one for sale, especially on eBay.

One of these early ones came up on eBay recently in Bristol...or was it Bath 🤔 anyway, I inquired about it but it sold almost straightaway!
