Michael Messer, Bob Stockton, and 5 more like this

As per my recent thread, my guitar arrived today, and I thought I'd post some pictures. Rather than simply put up pictures of the guitar, I thought I'd show some unboxing pics. Hopefully this will help some newbies (like me!) who have either recently joined or are simply browsing the forum (as I was for weeks).
Once ordered, Michael sends you a confirmatory email, and explains what happens next. When the guitar is ready, you get an email from the courier with tracking details etc.
Excellent box. Paper on the top to mask my details - I don't want anyone round at 2am fighting with my 6 dobermans and cutting the barbed wire to steal it.
Case well wrapped in polythene.
Case unwrapped.
Guitar as it was in the case - the paper is to conceal my details. The envelope contains receipt, nice letter and care instructions etc. Guitar was wrapped in polythene and secured with string.
Guitar stood up in case - more packing materials on the bottom.
Case opened. I was a little wary of how good the case would be. No worries now - it's fine, a good quality pod case which will withstand moderate abuse. I won't be changing it - it's similar quality to what Taylor send their GS Mini out with.
Guitar on a stand. Note it's also signed and numbered on the back of the headstock by Michael.
And this is what came out of the box. Michael could get a job in a packing factory. And if this lockdown continues much longer, we'll all be joining him.
There was also a nice touch - a Diamond bottleneck was supplied. This was packed in the pod case and was as well wrapped as everything else.
I won't comment too much on the guitar itself. I don't have enough experience of resonators to tell anyone this is better than an equivalently priced alternative.
However, that being said...
This guitar is well built, with a perfect finish. It's very well set up and plays superbly (within the limitations of the finger injury I have of course - see other thread for details!). It sounds wonderful, although again I need to defer to my finger issues on that one. The nut is well cut and action spot on.
Pickup - you will see I have one of the last few Sixtus pickups that Michael has left - the Slim. It's perfectly installed, and works well. Balance across all six strings is perfect. Again, I can't comment too much on that at the moment, but I'm sure it will come in useful in the months ahead.
So, for any of you who are new to the forum, or are guests and looking to buy this guitar, would I recommend it? Yes, without reservation. Michael is a pleasure to deal with. The guitar plays well, is set up well, sounds great, and looks wonderful.
Thanks for reading this far!
