Hello everyone, I'm Phil, and thought I'd pop in and say hi. I'm an 'intermediate' level player. I've been playing for 30 plus years, and have been intermediate for 28 of those! Anyway, to cut a long story short, I've had a recent injury to my left hand ring finger. The tendons are torn, and because of the current situation, I've had to treat it myself (following a video chat with my GP).
Anyway - worst case scenario is I won't be able to play my usual stuff. Hopefully my improvised splint will be good enough to prevent that happening, but I thought I'd explore what to do in the event of it being permanently damaged.
Of course the solution was staring me in the face. Buy a resonator and learn slide. Piece of cake. I don't need that finger to be as bendy!
Fun fact - I've only ever played one resonator guitar, for 5 minutes, in my life. It was actually Catfish Keith's at a gig in Chester some 25 years ago. OK, it was after the gig when we were chatting; nice guy.
Now maybe someone, or Michael, can help me. I emailed Michael last week with a view to buying the MMB '28, and he replied with some advice etc, and a detail of costs.
I emailed back last Friday wanting to make the purchase, and sent a follow up yesterday, and still haven't heard back. Should I be ordering via here?
Michael, if you are reading this, it was the MMB '28, my email address was xxxxxxxxxxxx489
Apologies if you're inundated with work and are going to get back to me soon. But I know how many emails I've missed over the years.
Cheers guys, I'd have been a member here ages ago if I'd known about it. Simply for learning about some of the great artists I've either not heard of or stupidly ignored over the years. I've seen Michael play just twice I'm afraid, hopefully I can rectify that in the years ahead.
