Good stuff from those crazy Island cats, it's in the DNA.
Funnily enough I was rummaging through some stuff yesterday and came across the July 94 National Breakdown gig at SHP that I have on VHS, happy memories.
Regards

Regards Lee Michael Messer's National Breakdown Service, July 1994-(photographer unknown) From left to right: Michael Messer, Stuart Cumberpatch, Dave Temple, Angelina Grimshaw, Ed Genis, Andy Crowdy, J.C. Grimshaw My daughters, when they were little, used to watch that video quite a lot and always referred to it as the pink festival, because of the lightning that makes the whole thing a bit pink. It's lovely to see JC playing with his family. His son, Sol, is now studying at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and is out gigging regularly doing his gypsy jazz stuff. He is fine musician. Those apples definitely didn't fall far from the tree. Shine On Michael

Michael that photo featured in the Bracknell news or Times. Unfortunately Terry was not there for the promo photo.

Michael that photo featured in the Bracknell news or Times. Unfortunately Terry was not there for the promo photo. Lee That's absolutely right, because this photo session was not at the festival, it was a few days earlier when we met up to rehearse. I guess Terry must have been working and unable to be there. The performance was on the Saturday and on the Friday Terry and I went to the Shepherds Bush Empire to see Johnny Cash to thank him for writing the liner notes for Rhythm Oil. The ironic thing was that John invited me to go to Glastonbury with them in their bus, which was leaving sometime on the day of the Bracknell show, so I had to turn down the offer. John played at Glastonbury on the Sunday, but there was no way I could have made it without going with John, June and the crew on their bus. Bracknell was a wonderful and memorable performance, but I could have gone to Glastonbury with Johnny Cash! Shine On Michael

Great memories and also rans, I have a few near misses also but not on that scale.
Like the night Brit Ekland asked me for a fork, I had to look twice and with her Swedish accent then realised I was standing in the way of the buffet table at John Reids house (Eltons manager)...

Fab stuff. Maybe someone could start a thread on gypsy jazz guitars? I don't know much myself. TT
