I recently bought a 1999 Gibson Dobrolektric thin body resonator guitar. It has a P90 in the neck(that works) and a piezo pickup(that doesn't work). There are 3 pots,Volume ,Push Pull Tone, and a Blend, with a stereo jack and 9v battery. From what I've read the piezo should be a Fishman or a Highlander but it has a Shadow SH7797 written on the board. The board has wires broken off and doesn't work. I took it to a luthier and he said it is a mess and I should change it. Does anyone know what was in it OEM and have a wiring diagram? Thank you

Some photos might help. In an ideal world you need a mixer preamp to get the best out of a piezo- magnetic system, but they are quite expensive ($100 + for a Fishman) The cheapest way would be to have a stereo output, taking each pickup to a separate amp or amp channel. Pete
The piezo needs an onboard preamp to get the best out of it, though it will give a usable sound without if leads to the amp are kept short .

Without being too negative Gibson who were behind Dobro at this time earned there reputation which led to Dobro being resigned to history.
Hpwever it can be resurrected, Steve Evans @ Beltona fitted dual pickup/Piezo systems to his resolectrics, National resophonic in USA fitted similar systems to there resolectric. Mike Lewis at Fine Resophonic also has this in his toolkit from his resolectrics that he has made.
The products have changed from when Dobro put yours together so you have a few decisions to make as to where you go next.
